Avoid OK Tire at All Costs – A Nightmare Experience I brought my vehicle to OK Tire for diagnostics on an intermittent misfire during a cold start, and the initial diagnostic alone cost $900. They later claimed they needed a “deep diagnostic” to find the issue and concluded that I needed to replace the batteries, perform an oil change, coolant change, and even replace the head gasket, all for a shocking $5000. I declined and took my vehicle back. Shockingly, the misfire issue worsened after I left. I got the oil change done elsewhere, replaced the batteries, and was quoted $1000 by OK Tire—only to find I could get the same job done for half that price. They also insisted my vehicle required a “battery reset” with the computer, which was quickly dismissed by another mechanic as completely unnecessary. Despite paying $900 for the initial diagnostic, they missed a critical issue with the starter, which failed within 100 kilometers of their so-called inspection. Five weeks after I took my car in, they called to tell me they had broken something in the oil pan and asked if I wanted to replace the timing chain for an extra $500. I declined, knowing my vehicle was still 50,000 kilometers away from the manufacturer’s recommended replacement interval. Then, before I could pick it up, they called again to inform me that the starter had failed from moving the car in and out of their garage—now quoting an additional $1100! At this point, I refused any more repairs and had my vehicle towed elsewhere. When I went to settle the bill, I was hit with hidden fees, including $10/day storage fees, and the final cost came out to $4999—just shy of their original $5000 estimate! Despite requesting a breakdown of the charges, they couldn’t provide any details on labor, parts, or hours worked. OK Tire is a complete scam. They will upsell you, damage your vehicle, overcharge you, and refuse to provide any transparency about their work. I urge everyone—DO NOT take your vehicle to OK Tire. It will cost you time, money, and endless frustration

You brought your 2017 Pacifica to us with an intermittent misfire. The diagnostic charge that you approved was $397.78. We advised that you had a head gasket issue and recommended replacing the motor as a better investment given the condition of the motor. At that time, you declined to do any repairs, understandably the issue worsened. You brought your vehicle back to us to have the head gasket repair completed, approving the costs. The batteries we quoted you on had a four year warranty nationwide, and there were less expensive options. As far as the battery re-set, it was positioned as ‘if needed’; we were being transparent on potential outcomes. The only broken part that occurred was a rusty exhaust clamp that broke on removal. Regarding the timing chain replacement recommendation, this was based on condition of the parts in your vehicle and our experience; by doing that $500 repair while the part was removed would potentially save you costs later. And these new parts would be under warranty. The starter failed based on the age of your vehicle, this was outside of the scope of any diagnosis or repairs we did. You asked for a breakdown of the costs; we prepared this for you to pick up and you did not. Storage fees can occur when vehicles are not picked up within an agreed to period and you were aware of the date they would start. Even with the broken part and storage fees, the final bill was less than the quote you approved. We regret that you are not happy with the outcome of the services we provided.
