Be very cautious bringing a German vehicle here. I brought my Mercedes C300 in and was told they had experience with these cars, but the quote I received was over $13,000. They failed to provide a detailed, itemized breakdown and quoted 24 hours of labor plus $6,100 just for phasers. I took the car to a specialist who confirmed the timing chain didn't need to be done and they fixed the actual issue for less than $2,000. In my opinion, the quote from OK Tire was extreme and lacked transparency. I’m glad I got a second opinion. Some additional details - the vehicle was initially in the shop for diagnostic work, during which sensors were replaced without resolving the issue. A follow up assessment led to an updated quote over $13,000 including timing chain and camshaft adjusters. At that time we went to a different shop.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you left feeling this way after your visit. To clarify, the estimate provided was based specifically on your request for a quote on timing chain replacement. As this was requested without a full diagnostic inspection, the pricing reflected a preliminary estimate using industry labor guides and parts pricing for that scope of work on a Mercedes C300. We always recommend a proper diagnostic evaluation before proceeding with major repairs, as this allows us to confirm the root cause and potentially avoid unnecessary work. In many cases, this can significantly change both the repair approach and overall cost. We’re glad you were able to get the issue resolved and appreciate you seeking a second opinion, that’s always a wise step when facing a major repair decision. Thank you again for your feedback.
